Yesterday, I and 5 others sipped our flat whites while Richard of the Rug Establishment made a generous 2 hour presentation about his new and existing products. His passion is infectious, so much so that I had the urge to shut up shop, head to India or Tibet and live it first hand!!
During this inspiring presentation we discussed the values of a great rug and how often this is overlooked by a clients.
So what are the values of a great rug?
It offers an opportunity to introduce pattern and energy, it brings colour to our neutral world, it can reflect your personality (my addition to the elements and principals table), it hides sins, it anchors a coffee table, it leads the eye through a hall, it creates warmth, it will identify a theme, it defines a space, it can be an art piece, regardless it will always enhance a home...
Rugs come in an amazing range of textures, materials and weaves, here are a few of my favourites.
